We are in the midst of a fertility crisis in the US. The number of couples going through IVF is heartbreaking. This was not the norm when I was growing up. So, what has changed over the last couple decades? While infertility is multi factorial and there could be a number of things that are contributing to it. There are things that you can change today to help boost your chances of getting pregnant and it begins with the products that you are putting on your skin every single day. Many young women and young men are unaware of the hormonal damage they are doing by using many of the name brand skincare products on the market today. Most of the popular skincare products today contain endocrine disrupting chemicals. They are directly impacting your hormones, and you may not even be aware of it. Many of the beauty care products contain fragrances. In fact, it is incredibly difficult to find products that do not contain a fragrance. Companies are allowed to hide ingredients that they do not want to disclose under the umbrella ingredient fragrance because they can conceal it as a trade secret. It is not just skincare that you should look into changing, but shampoo and conditioner, and makeup too. Try not to get discouraged, sometimes making simple changes can grant you the miracle you are looking for. Environmental Working Group is a great site to visit to try to find better alternatives. Fortunately, there are more and more companies out there today that have great options for those looking to decrease their toxic burden.
